This painting depicts the journey of somebody taking the first steps towards getting help for their mental health. At the beginning we can be hesitant to reach out for help as we might be scared of what people may think or if anybody can actually help us. Sometimes the first step of admitting that we need help can be the hardest and we might feel shame. This painting serves as a reminder of the strength and resilience we all have inside us and the journey we can take when we allow people to help us. There will be many mountains to overcome, but our ancestors are always watching and guiding us every step of the way. With just one step at a time, we can do it.
